Documents required from foreigners who wish to apply for a checking account:
- A completed and duly signed application
- A copy of the passport, including the pages showing the migratory movements (entry and exit seals)
- A copy of a second ID (Driver’s license, Social Security Card, etc.)
- 2 last Income Tax Statements, letter of employment or, if retired, pensioner certificate
- Two bank references letters from his/her country of origin
- If he/she has a bank account in Panama, a reference letter from the local bank
- Credit references from his/her country of origin
Multibank International Legal Checking Account
Requisites:
- Articles of incorporation of the corporation and all its amendments
- General Resolution or Minutes of the Stockholders’
- Meeting signed by the President and Secretary or Legal Representative.
- Copy of passport of all those signing and Officers of the Corporation.
- If there is a General Power of Attorney, it must be registered at the Public Registry.
- Certification issued by the Registrar of the country of origin of the corporation.
- Two bank references (local or foreign) of the signers of the account.
- Two commercial references (local or foreign).
- Two personal references (local or foreign) of the signers of the account which should include telephone numbers and home addresses.
Multibank International Natural Checking Account
Requisites:
- Two banking references (local or foreign) or excerpts of banking accounts of the last three (3) months.
- Two commercial references (local or foreign).
- Two personal references (local or foreign) which should include telephone numbers and home addresses.
- Passport.
Banco Universal
Documents required from foreigners who wish to apply for a checking account.
- A copy of the passport, including the pages showing the migratory movements (entry an exit seals).
- Copy of a second ID (Driver’s license, Social Security Card, etc).
- Two bank reference letters from his/her country of origin.
- If he/she has a bank an account in Panama, a reference letter from the local bank.

Requirements for Foreigners
- Information required for every account holder and authorized signature.
- Completely fill out our application form with your name as it appears in your passport, with the required personal data and others.
- Original, authenticated or annotated copy of passport.
- Valid immigration card in the case of foreigners with more than 90 days of permanence in Panama, according to the last entrance seal.
- References (for each of the holders and authorized signatories)
- Personal: Minimum two (including at least 1 non-relativve)
- Banking: Minimum two
Account Information:
- Purpose
- Initial Deposit
- Other local and foreign bank accounts, if any (data should include country, bank name and number of the account)
- Documents proving the source of income
If salaried, letter of employment issued by the current employer.
If self employed:
- Last Income Statement
- A note from the natural person explaining his activity. Documents which prove said activity. Submit copy of the commercial or industrial license if the activity so requires.
